I test how AI tools describe and cite businesses.
I test what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI tools say about businesses. I check whether the information is accurate, which sources appear, and what a business can improve.
Check what AI tools say and where they get it
AI answers change with the prompt, location, model, and date. I run the same prompts more than once and record which businesses appear, what the answer says, and which sources it cites.
Make the company’s information clear
The company website should state its services, customers, locations, and proof plainly. Pages should answer the questions buyers ask. Structured data can label facts on a page, but it cannot make inaccurate claims credible.
Check the sources AI tools rely on
I check whether reputable publications, directories, associations, reviews, and industry comparisons mention the business accurately. A list of low-quality mentions won’t tell us much.
Repeat the same tests and record the sources
I keep a set of prompts and record the model, date, location, answer, and cited sources. Repeating the tests shows whether a change holds up or appeared once.
A three-day change in ChatGPT answers
We placed a home-services client in relevant industry list articles on high-authority sites. Within three days, ChatGPT named the company among the leading providers in its field. I can’t isolate one cause from that result, but it prompted me to test whether those sources influence other answers.
That is one result from one client. I’m checking the cited sources and repeating the prompts to see whether the mention persists and whether the same sources appear elsewhere.
How AI search fits into SEO
AI search adds another way people find companies. The website still needs accurate information, useful pages, technical SEO, local visibility, and an easy path to contact or buy.
I publish tests and observations through SOURCE HQ and Colorado GEO. I use what I learn to update client campaigns.
Questions about AI search visibility
Can anyone guarantee that ChatGPT will mention my business?
No. Answers can vary, and the systems decide what to include. I check the information available about the business, improve its sources where needed, and track how it appears across repeated tests.
Does schema markup make a company show up in AI answers?
Schema can label information already shown on a page. It does not guarantee that an AI tool will cite the business.
How is AI search performance measured?
Run the same prompts across chosen platforms and locations. Record mentions, citations, and referral traffic, then compare those results over time.
What are AI tools saying about your business?
Send me your website and tell me what you want to improve. I’ll read your note and get back to you.
