Website Strategy · Conversion

A website has to get found—and make the next step obvious.

I’ve built thousands of websites, led large projects for national brands, and developed search strategies for local businesses. A website needs to attract the intended customer, explain why the business is a good choice, and make it easy to call, book, or buy.

Build the site around how customers find and choose you

I’ve seen polished websites that couldn’t be found, and high-traffic sites that didn’t explain why a customer should choose the company. Plan the search pages, message, proof, and calls to action together.

Decide who the site needs to reach

Before design starts, define the customer, what they need, and what the business wants them to do. A home-services site, an online store, and a national brand each need a different structure and approval process.

Build a page for each important search

Organize navigation around the services and products customers search for. Each page should answer a specific need, and the links should make the next step easy to find.

Show visitors why they should choose the business

Explain the offer, show proof, answer the questions customers raise, and make the next step visible. Design should help visitors understand the company and take action.

Track calls, leads, and sales after launch

Set up tracking before launch. Pageviews show how people use the site; calls, qualified forms, bookings, and sales show whether it is producing business.

Large web programs and local business sites

I’ve worked on major web projects for national brands and built search strategies for local businesses, from home services to law firms. Large projects require clear requirements, stakeholder alignment, governance, and a launch plan. Local business sites need a direct message, visible trust, service-specific information, and an easy path to call or request help.

For both, I check whether customers can find the page, understand the offer, and take action—and whether the company can track what happens.

Denver web design and search

I was born and raised in Denver, and the businesses I’ve built are rooted here. My focused project, The Denver Web Design Company, explores the connection between building a website and making it work for search and conversion. Questions about website strategy

Should SEO be added after the design is finished?

Bring SEO into the project while navigation, page structure, and content are being planned. You can improve SEO later, but changing a finished site may take more work.

How do you know whether a website is converting?

Track calls, qualified forms, bookings, and sales. Review which pages and traffic sources led to those actions, and whether the leads became customers.

Does a beautiful website help rankings?

Design by itself won’t improve rankings. Search visibility depends on the pages, technical setup, content, and links. Design helps visitors understand the company and decide whether to contact it.
